Sleep medications are some of the most prescribed drugs, and often the most abused. Many people begin taking sleep medications to deal with insomnia but continue because they enjoy the pleasant feeling or because they are dependent on sleep medications to deal with the stresses in their lives. Other times people continue to use sleep medications just because the withdrawal symptoms are very unpleasant. The best thing to do is avoid prescription sleep medications if possible, and instead use natural remedies to cure sleep problems. There is no potential for unwanted and unexpected addiction with a natural supplement. You of course do not need to worry about side effects or overdose when taking a natural supplement, unlike pharmaceutical sleep medications. I will concede that there are people who genuinely need pharmaceutical sleep medications, but they are not the majority of people being prescribed them. Other options should be thoroughly explored before this point.
Zolpidem is a more hazardous drug than you may realize, and should never be taken in doses which exceed 10mg per day. Allergic reaction is common to users of Zolpidem, showing itself as rash, hives and sore throat. What's more frightening are reports of hallucinations, memory loss, mood swings, personality changes and general confusion among users of Zolpidem. Generally marketed under the name Ambien, Zolpidem is becoming more and more commonly used in the treatment of insomnia. Though it is quite similar to benzodiazepines like Valium and Xanax it actually does not belong to this family of drugs. Zolpidem can be quite damaging to the liver and kidneys, and is also not recommended for any person with a lung disease. All of this should be discussed with your doctor before taking Zolpidem, but alternatives to Zolpidem for sleep disorders should be considered first.
Zanax is a very popular drug, and it does not need to be used nearly as much as it is. There are many alternatives which are safer than Zanax. Zanax can be used as a sleep aid, or can be used as an anti anxiety drug, but it is not meant for long term use. The longest one should use Zanax is a couple months, but many use it for years and become dependent on it. Zanax withdrawal can also be extremely unpleasant after taking it for a long time. Herbal supplements on the other hand do not have side effects, or addiction issues or the risk of dependency. They are the perfect alternative to Zanax, and don't require a prescription. You can save yourself that trip to the doctor, and the trip to the pharmacist, and simply order online. You'll be enjoying natural sleep and anxiety relief without the side effects of Zanax.
